Tapales, wagi sa WBC International Silver bantamweight title

Nasungkit ni dating two-division world champion Marlon “Nightmare” Tapales ang ikatlong dikit na tagumpay kontra Indonesian knockout artist na si Jon Jon “Triple J” Jet sa 10-round World Boxing Council (WBC) International Silver super bantamweight bout kagabi, Linggo, Abril 27, sa Venue 88 sa General Santos City.
Nakuha ni Tapales ang panalo via TKO sa ikatlong round matapos ihinto na ng referee ang laban dahil sa natamong sugat sa ilong ng Indonesian fighter dahil sa pinakawalang left hook ni Tapales.
Dahil sa kanyang panalo ay mayroon na itong malinis na record na 40-4 pro record at 21 sa mga ito ay knockouts. Nasa rank No. 2 din ito sa WBC, No. 3 sa International Boxing Federation at No. 5 sa World Boxing Association.
Ayon kay Tapales, pangarap din nitong maging three-division world champion kung kaya naman doble trabaho ang ginagawa nito lalo na sa mga panahon ng pagsasanay.
Hindi rin ito nagpapaka-kumpiyansa sa sarili dahil ang mga nakakalaban umano niya ay matitibay at matatag sa ibabaw ng ring.
“I’m happy that I’m able to fight again—this time in GenSan, “It’s been a while since I fought here, which makes me even more motivated to win,” ani Tapales.
“I still dream of becoming a three-division world champion, so this is doing extra work and training. I am very confident, but I’m also not one to underestimate anybody. The plan is to stay active, and hopefully this leads to a title shot by the end of the year,” dagdag pa ni Tapales.
